New Year's Blessings

Happy New Year Blessed Kindreds,

We are starting with rain, what a beautiful affirmation of abundance and flowing life force!

And then, there are the New Year Resolutions...well, honestly, I'm not sure about those. Most of them tend not to hold up for very long.

Why? -It's not about us being naughty, lazy, lacking inspiration, lacking discipline, genuine intent etc.. None of that. Most of New Year resolutions fail because we are not in a balanced place in our bodies and minds. Where there is imbalance, nothing really works as intended. And so, rather than making grand resolutions destined to fade perhaps a simple intention to LOVE YOUSELF MORE will suffice.

One of such expression of self-love can be a master-art Ayurvedic treatment that brings your mind, body and soul into a beautiful, blissful harmony, allowing you to start this year with truly a clean slate (physically & energetic sense)!

Abhyanga is a traditional Indian massage, an essential aspect of healing the body-mind-spirit complex within Ayurvedic medicine, focusing primarily on pacifying vata (=the force of aging/decline), and stimulating body's natural ability of detoxification and rejuvenation. It's a powerful treatment, and nearly every one in our busy lifestyle is afflicted by some form of vata imbalance. The massage is rather energetic, using very specific strokes and sequences in directing movement of energy, thus helping the body cleanse impurities, draw in prana, and restore blissful harmony. A larger quantity of warm oil is being used, that can be either towelled off after, or let therapeutically soak in during Shirodhara (warm liquid streaming on the third eye meditation) and washed partly away by herbal steam (Svedana) : if one chooses to experience the profound healing effect of a full a Bliss-Therapy ritual: Abhyanga-Shirodhara-Svedana trinity. A deep physical and spiritual experience.

Not in a space or place to receive such grand treatment? No worries. You can try gentler home version: warm up some (preferably organic) sesame oil and massage your body from head to toe first thing in the morning. Let it soak for a few minutes, than shower off with warm water. You'd be surprised how wonderful and peaceful you feel (let me know about your experience)! If everyday is not possible, save it for a couple-times-a-week-treat (but warning: it's addictive).
