We live in a fast paced, complex world, overloaded with information Our minds seem to have evolved to handle large quantity of tasks and data, while our bodies remain the same as they were thousands years ago. This creates imbalances in our energies, causing dis-ease of the mind and body, making it so much harder to connect with your innermost essence, our spirit, the silent driving force that makes life magical and fulfilling.

In Ayurveda (ayur=life, veda =science), many thousands old 'science of life', we talk about energies in terms of balancing  the three doshas. Dosha  stands for a specific combination of the five elements contained in our body/minds, nature and the whole universe, continually shifting and striving for harmony, yet also subject to internal and external conditions that can create imbalance.

Them mind and body are not separate; we can say the body is a more physical aspect of the mind, and the mind is a more subtle aspect of the body, thus the term bodymind: an inseparable entity responsible for our health and wellbeing.

Many dis-eases (=imbalances)begin at the level of the mind, finding their way to the physical body, stress being the most prevalent one, as well as unresolved past traumas and emotional experiences. And, any dis-ease in the body (eg inflammation  will further aggravate the mind, resulting in more stress and thus the vicious cycle goes on, creating a deeper imbalance. More so, each person has it's unique constitution, an unique combination of doshas, that call for specific diet and lifestyle modification. Literally, one person's precious medicine can be another's poison and vice versa, an important understanding often overlooked in the western medicine modalities.

In Ayurveda, we strive to create a balanced, vibrant state of healthy mind, body and spirit. life lived in vitality, expanded awareness and in harmonious relationship with the environment, nature an cosmos. While much can be done with diet and lifestyle adjustments (eg sleep, exercise, rest, yoga, meditation, pleasing environment, daily rhythms, company of kindred spirits...), the load of our world is too much, and, often we need a bit more to intently entrain our bodyminds into balancing themselves and to maintain this healing process on ongoing basis. Enter ayurvedic healing therapies, whether it's bodywork, energy work, specialized treatments, or combination of all.

I'm excited to work with your uniqueness, to recognize and nurture your gifts, to transform your perceived  weaknesses into assets, to release old (self limiting) patterning that is no longer serving and  to enhance your body's self healing capacity so you can live a happy, harmonious life as the best version of yourself.

Namaste,

 Shakti
